Such a treat to stay at this gem of a property. I have stayed here many times, and it feels like home to me. Super clean and comfortable, with great attention to detail. You will not find a better view than the one from this home. It is incredible.
"Our small group of friends recently enjoyed a short retreat at the Wolf Den. What a quality property in a beautiful setting—this home is a true gem! From the moment we approached the house and walked through the beautiful entryway, through the experiences of cooking and eating in the huge well-appointed kitchen, to our cozy evening conversations around fires in the firepit out back, we were supremely satisfied. All of the rooms include comfortable provisions, which led to our restful experience. It was such a blessing that three of the five bedrooms have their own bathrooms. Working with the owner was simple and pleasant. And the view--Oh my!"

"We had three families at the Wolf Den for 5 days including New Years Eve. It was a wonderful trip and this home was perfect for all of us to fit comfortably. The views were amazing. The snow and area around the house was everything our kids were hoping for in a winter wonderland. It was a short 30 minutes to Ski Cooper and other fun activities to enjoy when we wanted to get out. The house itself is in great shape, with lots of space and all the comforts of home. Gretchen was a great host if we had questions. I’d highly recommend this property for a group vacation!!"

"Gretchen's place is exactly as described. The home was peaceful with excellent views and was exceptionally clean. She has it well stocked with more than enough of everything you would need (and even some things you didn't realize you needed!). It was a perfect setting for an extended family get-together with more than enough room for family members of all ages to stretch out. I would not hesitate to book again."

"We could not get enough of the views of the lakes and the mountains around us. Our son went sledding and wouldn’t come in."

"Gretchen's home was spotless and she is very quick to respond. The view from the windows in the living room was indescribable. Such a beautiful home in a quiet area. Centrally located - only a 20 min drive to downtown Leadville (tons of local eats and shops) and only a 30 minute drive to Ski Cooper. House had plenty of room for a large family and was elegantly decorated. Great home for kids. Had a crib with a mattress in the upstairs bedroom, baby gates and tons of board games. We had a great time there and would love to come back."

"Our extended family enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Wolf Den over Easter/spring break. We had six adults and six kids ranging from 3 month old twins to age 14 and the flow of the house worked perfectly... everyone had their own space with plenty of room to get together as a group. The touches in the home are lovely - nice beds, sheets, towels, furnishings, and the best stocked kitchen of any rental home that we've visited. We all enjoyed the hot tub every day. And the view - wow. From watching the sun come up over the mountains to watching a winter storm move in, it truly needs to be seen to be believed."

"Would definitely stay at this property again! It was perfect for our group. The location is great as it’s close to the lakes and many trails. Easy access to Independence Pass which takes you to Aspen. You don’t have to go far to find something to do! The home is beautiful and efficient. We cooked every meal at the house and the kitchen was well-equipped. We never ran out of anything as Gretchen has the house furnished with anything you would need. The hot tub with views is a bonus! We enjoyed sitting by the fireplace in the evening and mornings while looking at the mountains. Additionally, Gretchen was very responsive and wonderful to work with. My only regret is that we only booked 5 nights!"

"I would say it was the most well-organized and well-stocked house that I have rented. Gretchen was an amazing host - she was very responsive and communicative throughout our stay when we had questions and gave some great suggestions for hiking spots nearby. We have all already been talking about finding a week next summer to rent it out again!"

"My wife and I stayed here recently to get away from all the city noise and the house could not have been better situated in the mountains. Gorgeous view of the mountains and lake. Very quiet and Gretchen was great!"

"We rented this property for a group of 10 active mid-30 year olds. It’s location is perfect for so many different activities, and the accommodations while hanging around the house are outstanding. The house was spotless upon our arrival."
